Role Summary:
The Regional Manager of Transportation/Trucking is responsible for overseeing transportation operations, fleet management, regulatory compliance, and driver development across multiple entities. This role will drive efficiency, profitability, and strategic growth while ensuring smooth fleet operations, cost control, and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Areas of Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
Fleet & Asset Management: Oversee lease agreements, fleet readiness, and asset deployment based on regional demand. Manage tracking systems (Samsara, Verizon, Motive), reefer maintenance, and payload compliance. Optimize truck and trailer utilization with site General Managers, maintain an updated asset list, implement preventive maintenance programs, and standardize fleet specifications.
Financial & Compliance Oversight: Manage P&L, chargebacks, and budgeting while ensuring FMCSA compliance. Oversee license renewals, asset valuation, and depreciation analysis to maintain financial accuracy.
Driver Development: Establish hiring and termination procedures, implement driver training programs, and monitor performance through scorecards.
Vendor & Contract Negotiations: Negotiate contracts for fleet tracking, insurance, and fuel procurement. Oversee the implementation of Paragon with Aptean rollout if applicable.
Strategic Initiatives: Align fleet capacity with operational demands, transition to diesel trucks, and standardize fleet configurations. Optimize shuttle routes, consolidate transportation entities, centralize parts ordering, streamline delivery methodologies, and secure backhaul contracts to enhance fleet efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or fleet operations.
Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, fleet maintenance, and financial oversight.
Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.
Ability to analyze P&L statements and optimize cost efficiencies.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in driver development and performance management.
Familiarity with fleet tracking technologies (Samsara, Verizon, Motive).
Strategic mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and standardization.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000
