What You'll Do
As a 2nd shift supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the 2nd shift's daily warehouse operations. This includes ensuring the safe storage and handling of products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and coordinating the shipping and receiving processes. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, as well as leading and supervising a team of warehouse staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and distribution of products.
- Drive KPIs for the shift: OTIF, pick accuracy, inventory control, invoice/ order accuracy
- Implement warehouse procedures to ensure efficient operations and minimize waste.
- Monitor and optimize the use of warehouse space and equipment.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
- Manage relationships with and work alongside the local dispatcher to ensure optimal delivery of goods
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including PPE rules, OSHA, BRC, and other relevant local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain safety training log for crew
- Implement and enforce proper handling, storage, and disposal procedures.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of products while minimizing excess stock.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track and report on inventory levels and movement.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Schedule and coordinate work assignments for warehouse personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensures all operations procedures are followed safely and effectively, identifies, and recommends - needed changes to Manager on the standardized processes for the functional area.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
- Able to lead a team of 5-10 with focus on Dock operations
- Minimum of a 5 years of experience in a warehouse
- Minimum of 5 years of inventory experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have previous experience utilizing ERP.
- Minimum of 5year of using forklift effectively and safely
- Able to stand/walk 70% of the day, including up/downstairs
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong presence on warehouse floor to continuously drive improvements
- Able work in temperatures as cold as -30 degrees Fahrenheit
- Physical Requirements: The physical requirements is that you must be able to carry, lift and/or - move up to 60-80 pounds
